This is an infographic about a resource I have been using in my own class. We had an entire class on using data and we learned that it is not just for teachers to be looking at. Students and families are fully capable of analyzing data, all they need is a little bit of help. The data decision-maker principle taught me the value of sitting down to conference with students and show them their MAP scores along with how to set plans to meet or exceed their goal come the next round of testing. Each report allows students and families to look at the data and see where the student is in terms of their growth, along with goal setting strategies and questions to empower the child to capitalize on their weaknesses and build on their strengths. I enjoy going over this with my students because they feel like they are allowed in on the data that teachers look at and it makes them feel better about understanding exactly what they need to improve on.
