About
- Scope and Summary: This project outlines my school library action plan focused on promoting literacy proficiency within primary grades. The plan involves collaborating with classroom teachers to assist students in choosing engaging books and materials, enhancing their knowledge of how to access reading materials, and conducting ongoing assessments of students’ reading choices. The goal is to support students in transitioning from learning to read to reading to learn by grade 3.
- InTASC Principle: This project aligns with InTASC Standard #10: Leadership and Collaboration.
- This principle focuses on my role in collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure learner growth.
- The action plan demonstrates this through its emphasis on collaboration with classroom teachers in planning and implementing the reading program.
- It also involves a collaborative approach to assessing students’ reading choices and progress.
- The plan aims to support learner growth in literacy by helping students transition from “learning to read” to “reading to learn.”
