Scope and Summary: This assignment involves an evaluation of the physical facilities of my school library media center at Waterloo Elementary. The evaluation includes assessing the arrangement of furniture, support for collaboration and co-teaching, seating to promote reading, and the integration of technology. I reflected on the positive aspects of the library and suggested improvements, particularly in enhancing access to digital resources and supporting diverse learners.
InTASC Principle: This project aligns with InTASC Standard #3: Learning Environments.
This principle focuses on creating environments that support individual and collaborative learning, positive social interaction, and active engagement.
The assignment aligns with this by requiring me to analyze how the library’s physical space supports these elements.
The evaluation included me and the rest of the media team having to consider factors such as furniture arrangement, space for collaboration, and technology integration, all of which contribute to creating a positive and effective learning environment.
