  • Scope and Summary: This document provides a record of weeding books from my Waterloo Elementary library collection. The record includes details such as title, format, publication year, Dewey age, condition, CREW reason (MUSTIE), equity-informed decision, circulation statistics, and the decision to weed or retain. I chose the computer science section since I also teach technology.
  • InTASC Principle: This project aligns with InTASC Principle #9: Professional Learning and Ethical Practice.
    • This principle involves me engaging in ongoing professional learning and using evidence to evaluate my practice, which this assignment had me using my real library in order to complete the objective of weeding books along with justification.
    • The assignment demonstrates applying professional judgment and ethical considerations in the weeding process.
    • By considering factors such as equity, relevance, and the needs of the learning community, I demonstrated a commitment to ethical practice in collection management.
